Thank God It’s Friday Morning.
Today is the 13th day of 2023. This January seems to be in a hurry. Just like yesterday, the world was busy with New Year’s Eve and alas! We are almost in the middle of the month. Talk about race against time; time in deed waits for no one.
Unfortunately, l am not aware that the church has produced another Joshua to speak to the sun and the moon to stand still (Joshua 10:12-13) so we can carry on with our whims and caprices, our jamborees and revellings, parties and choice fetes only to go back in time when we are ready to continue living as if nothing happened.
No, there is no borrowed time. We must therefore be constantly on the move to destiny and purpose, for yet a little while, He that will come will surely come and shall not tarry (Hebrews 10:37). And he will be coming with His angels to gather the nations unto judgment, separating one from the other (Matthew 25:31-34; 2 Corinthians 5:10).
No one will have the luxury of choosing who will be beside or around them. No one will choose by themselves whether to go the right or the left, but the Righteous Judge, Jesus Christ. There will be quite a bit of surprises that day when those ‘detestable sinful Christians’ with whom we do not wish to be in church, proceed to His right hand to spend eternity with Him while the self-assuming, the vibrant, noisy, holier-than-thou Christian to His left hand unto everlasting damnation.
On the other hand, you may choose to protest and move to the opposite direction when you see that person you have judged as unworthy for the Kingdom by Christ’s right hand.
God forbid! Brethren, please let’s have a large heart for those who seem not to be measuring up to our expectations of godliness or not fitting into our moulds. Let those who are spiritual help those who have fallen back on their feet in the spirit of love, gentleness and tolerance (Galatians 6:1).
There’s enough room for everyone in the Kingdom of God. Jesus is preparing mansions (John 14:2) and not squatter or refugee camps. Don’t let self-righteousness, intolerance and pride rob you of your reward. You really have no reason not to find a church where you can fellowship and worship God.
This is the 3rd weekend in January and in the year of our Lord, 2023. Please go to Church. Resist the devil with all his excuses, and you will once again experience the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free to rejoice in the company of brethren.
Please go to Church. Thank God It’s Friday Morning – by Dr. Dimgba (HCF-Tobago)
